「刊名」按 NLM 惯例缩写：有实义的词缩写，冠词、连词、介词径直省去，保留的词各首字母大写；用文献发表当时的刊名。「题名」照原件原语言著录，只有首词与专有名词首字母大写，其余小写。

「年」后可接英文月份缩写与日（形如 2004 May 5），以分号接「卷」；「期」正体入圆括号；冒号引出「起止页」。「起止页」不重复重复位：123-125 写作 123-5，页码带字母的除外（124A-126A 照写）。
